First
inspiration to learn to play came from the late great Marc Bolan, his
songs and stage presence were at the time second to none, I was too young
for the sixties, hitting early teens as the glam rock era took off. Then
as maturity came moved onto the great seventies bands such as Zep and
Purple, Clapton and later AC/DC and Gary Moore as well as a whole host of
sixties stuff that I started to enjoy. I
thank them and all the many others I listened to on vinyl, cassette and CD
for giving me hours of listening pleasure and inspiration. Played
first gig at about 15 as part of a duo, in a local social club, playing
bass because Pete sang and played the chords, the only song I can remember
doing was Sugar Sugar. Throughout
the seventies and early eighties played with Pete, who is still a great
mate, in a band called Crimson Inspiration, and by then had moved onto
lead guitar. Although the
nucleus was always Pete and I many good musicians came and went as the
band continually changed throughout the years. This
of course was when there were many working men’s clubs and social clubs
and welfares to play throughout the north of The band
stopped playing about 1983 and I chose another route common to many, that
of marriage, children, and family life. While
I wouldn’t swop that for the world the itch was still there, and
whenever I would see a band I would always want to get up and play again. The
chance came and like a born again biker I became a born again player,
joining up with the motley bunch of misfits who call themselves So
that’s a very brief bio from me. I
could write a lot more, some good, some bad, some funny, some sad, but I
wont. What I will say is keep
checking the gig list and if you get the chance come and see us play or
better still book us. I’m
sure you’ll enjoy. Keep on
rockin and keep music live. Love
and best wishes to you all
@ndy.
